Hyang Woon Lee, MD, Ph.D
Dr. Hyang Woon Lee is a Professor of Department of Neurology, Ewha Womans University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee leads interdisciplinary research efforts on the topic of network-based mechanisms of normal or abnormal brain functions, and AI-based Neuromodulation, particularly related to sleep and epilepsy. On these topics, Dr. Lee published many articles in top-tier interdisciplinary and medical journals, presentations at international academic conferences. She has received research funding from organizations including NRF, KHIDI, ITECH, KBRI, AES, and NINDS. Dr. Lee supervised more than 30 students and post-docs, and teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on neurology, and convergence medicine, especially AI applications on medical fields.
Dr. Lee is a leading member of the Korean Neurological Association (KNA), Korean Epilepsy Society (KES), and Korean Human Brain Mapping (KHBM), and globally serving as a taskforce member of the Organization of Human Brain Mapping (OHBM). Dr. Lee is also a director of the Medi-Tech Research Institute (formed by medical and engineering schools to develop medical devised and technology and to resolve any umnet clinical needs) and the industry-academic cooperation center in the Ewha Womans University Medical Center. Prior to joining Ewha as a faculty member, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, clinical fellow at NINDS, National Institutes of Health, and visiting professor at Yale University School of Medicine.
